I see there are several posts here on sleep paralysis. I used to get that when in my teens. Then I became very interested in astral projection. In those readings it said paralysis is the onset of your consciousness leaving the body during sleep and it happens to everyone often but we aren't usually aware of it. I wanted to learn how to project my consciousness but could never get past the fear. Now I'm working on it again with better success. Many famous thinkers, doctors etc. talk about projection of consciousness. Jesus I'm sure was good at it.
Yes it was scary but the last time it happened I was napping one afternoon and felt the vibrations that accompany the paralysis start to come on. This time though they were not scary but beautiful as if lying on a warm beach in the sun. So I thought if it's this good I'm going with it. I felt my astral or second body rise up to vertical but still attached at the head. I tried to separate by thinking of another room in the house but the vibes subsided and I returned to normal. |

Just be sure you research on strategies to get back should something go amiss. Always have a contingency plan with this stuff...it can be hit & miss if we aren't prepared.

My aunt was a very sociable and grounded person, but she seemed to have a propensity for psychic things happen to or around her.
Seemingly totally unrelated to that, she used to teach yoga - going back a long way. She was good at it and meditated a lot. She practiced leaving her body. She had an experience in which she was "out" and she reached a place in which there were a number of forces (perhaps rushing around her, or perhaps I just imagined it that way when she told me). She felt the forces as presences and they were very real to her and were good, bad and everything in between. She became very frightened and said that she was very exposed and unprotected in that place. It was such a terrible experience she quit yoga. She stopped teaching and never did yoga again, which was really kind of sad. I wonder if that's similar to what you're calling projection. I don't know anything about the topic, actually. But found your thread interesting. |
