Recently I've had 3 dreams that have related to space in very significant way. Although they differ slightly in setting they all seem to emphasize the presence of endless space.
The first dream was abstract and strange and wasn't so much a story as it was an image. I saw a large satellite that was a deep concave dish. The dish was layered, like it was sliced vertically down the satellite edges. On each layer there were a series of circles - like speakers or lights. They were emitting music towards the Earth and I could hear the music almost as though it were real. It was like the music of J.U.S.T.I.C.E but warped; I was amazed by the music and then, at the crescendo, I awoke. The second dream also consisted of a satellite but this time i was floating outside and drifting away very slowly. There was nothing I could do but decided to release myself of fear and just fall back towards the earth. I was in awe of how vividly I could see the earth in this way, even though a part of me understood I was dreaming. I started falling at immense speeds and yet I had so much control falling. For some reason I could see through the earth and see the sun on the other side. It appeared in the centre of the planet but I remember a voice telling me that what I was seeing was an illusion that happens in space (I definitely don't believe this true as it is completely ridiculous). As I fell faster and faster I landed in the desert and walked around for a while in awe of what just happened, until I decided to lie down and wake up. The final dream I only remember partially as many different things occurred at once. This dream took place in a space station with a girl that I believe I was in love with - although she resembled no one in my life. The station was losing oxygen so we had to rely on oxygen tanks to survive. Once the oxygen had stabilized, one incident happened after another; the station started rapidly losing heat and the walls and windows were freezing over. Everything seemed hopeless but nevertheless I thought the only way to stay warm was to make a bath (for some nonsensical reason we had hot water and baths worked in space). We both quickly scooped ice cubed out of the bath to prepare it. I knew the dream was about to get sexual but for some strange reason I came to a understanding that the best time to wake up would be now. You would think I would stay with this girl but I remember I thought I noted once I woke up: "This is how it should be." These dreams may seem to have no meaning, but due to them being so recent and similar I thought it was of note. I remembered so much of the dreams that I immediately recorded after waking. Any interpretations are appreciated whether you use a Freudian or Jungian angle. |
