I had a dream last night that was both short and simple. It shouldn't have bothered me but it did as I kept redreaming it and thinking of nothing other than it throughout the night. I don't often dream at all and certainly not in colour. The fact I even recall the dream is meaningful.
Basically, the content of the dream suggested that in the past I had previously quickly sketched and painted the image of two bluebirds. For a reason unknown, it seemed I had accidentally marred or destroyed one of them. The crux of the dream was that my boyfriend was terribly upset and fighting with me (never happens) practically crying that I had "killed the bluebird". This made things particularly worse as he was saying this over and over in public and people were taking his statement literally. The torment of the fight never ended and each time I tried to go back to sleep it resumed from where it had previously left off. |

Hi, WishfulThinker, thank you for sharing your dream. My first thought was of the "bluebird of happiness" and I wonder if you have any connections with that?
The accidentally marred/destroyed feeling too. . . maybe you have a problem you are blaming yourself for but you aren't to blame, it was an accident and you should be lighter on yourself. That your boyfriend is the "other" (I am making the assumption you are female) and you have two bluebirds and you are at odds; I think you're both the female/male two, you have a accidentally/destroyed, and you have two sides of a fight. That you use "accidentally" and are defending yourself against the complaining/upset half I find positive?
