I’ve been sleep walking ever since I was a little girl and my parents always were aware of it and knew what to watch out for when I would sleep walk and they would tell me about it once I was awake. Now that I am living with my husband, he is a very deep sleeper and he doesn’t know if I get out of bed or anything during the night and even if he does notice me get up he doesn’t know what to look for to tell if I’m sleep walking or if I am awake. I know that I still do it because not too long ago we stayed with my dad and he found my walking around during the night. I’m wondering if anyone has any tricks for me to know if I slept walked during the night or not?

Hello Iowagirl: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

I'm afraid there is nothing I could offer with regard to your concerns. Hopefully some other members, here on PC, may have some helpful suggestions. Here's a link to a brief article, from PsychCentral's archives which defines sleepwalking. The article provides a link to a comprehensive overview of sleepwalking disorder that may be of some interest:

https://psychcentral.com/encyclopedia/sleepwalking/

The other thing I can suggest is that if you don't get much in the way of helpful suggestions here on PC, PsychCentral has a sister website: NeuroTalk. There may be members there who will have experience with this condition. Here's a link to the NeuroTalk forums:

https://www.neurotalk.org/

My best wishes to you...

before some days I have also faced this issue and I had noticed that sleepwalking's one of the main reason was my mentally stresses, because when I worked too or take more burden as I can so I walked in sleep. I suggest you to minimize your workload or if you are a student so take less tension of studies

I had a nephew who would sleep walk. Usually while he has a really bad nightmare! As he got older he didn't sleep walk as much to the point he stop.

I never thought about stress causing sleep walking.

Hi, sorry to hear about this, but I can recommend is that technology is great and cheap these days, what you can do is put a camera towards your bed and have a popcorn in the morning while watching,
hopefully not a R rated movie!
