' Sometimes when I can't sleep I just turn on the tv hoping it will help me get to sleep .It doesn't seem to work for me. Then I get up and knit until I feel relaxed sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. Knitting is good for me because it actually relaxes me. It also makes me feel like I accomplished something. However I am having one of those nights I got up around 1 and still cannot get to sleep.I am anxious because we are suppose to get a bad rain storm with gusty winds ,storms always make me nervous .I am just asking what do you do when you are not able to sleep??

Last night I couldn't sleep. I spent $70 online normally I just surf the internet until I feel sleepy. I just had racing thoughts and couldn't get it together last night.

I have been on several types of sleep aids for more than 10 years. I am presently taking Trazadone. It is not working as I would like. I still find myself awake at 2 am most nights. The disturbing fact is I sometimes find myself strolling Hollywood Blvd at an unGodly hour, just for a bit of excitement. Not safe ... but exciting.

If I have to work at 7 in the morning, I just lie in bed. Even if I wake up at 1:30 and know I won’t be able to fall back asleep, I just lie there. I have a bad habit of reading scary stories on Reddit and I’m also sort of scared of the dark. I’m too scared to leave my bed.

On the days I don’t work I take my 6AM meds when I wake up. Then I can usually fall back asleep until 7 or 8. I’ve tried taking my meds when I wake up really early on the days I have to work and then going back to sleep and it’s just been a disaster every time. I am too tired when my alarm goes off and I either can barely take a shower, pass out in the shower, or end up calling in or leaving work early due to exhaustion.

Reading a book helps sometimes. Why does it seem so easy to feel like sleeping at the wrong time, a boring lecture, Monday morning, watching TV at night...

When my sleep aid is not working, I try a number of things. I try reading, crossword puzzles, adult films, old movies. Unfortunately, half of the time these things don't work. Since I live in North Hollywood, I often venture down to Hollywood Blvd at midnight. It doesn't matter what day of the week. It doesn't matter what is going on. I find myself wondering the Blvd. at three am. I finally take the subway home mid-morning.

I just discovered that the store Lush has a really good lotion called sleepy. I’ve been using it the last few nights and I’ve been sleeping great. I just have to put it on a couple hours before bed because sometimes I’ll wake up groggy. I’m not exactly sure how something that I’m not putting into my body can make me groggy though....
