I've had many dreams where I can't find my car. I think the car is symbolic of body or self. These dreams are very real or lucid as in a whole other reality. Last night I had another one. Couldn't find my car again. I was amused that this situation was so like my past lucid dreams where I couldn't find my car and I thought but obviously this was real and not a dream. I guess the dream faded and I woke up and thought holy x%$#! It was a dream! and it was kind of scary to think things in the dream world can be so real so if you, in a dream got into a really bad situation you might not be able to get out of it.
If you can turn it around and realize you really are dreaming you can do a lot of good stuff such as get answers to questions you have, do fun stuff like fly a fighter jet or drive a Ferrari. |

Hi Kreg,
Thanks for sharing this about your dream. First of all, you will eventually get out of your dream (unless you've died in your sleep) because you're going to wake up eventually whether you want to or not. Secondly, I was delighted to read this, because I have similar dreams constantly. I've left my car someplace but I can't remember where. I walk around and around, I think maybe I should call someone to come pick me up, but I've lost my phone...that sort of thing. Drives me nuts! The only interpretation I've found of this type of dream states that it happens to older people for whom the world they're living in is nothing like the world they grew up in. Don't know about that... What do you think? |

Then fear could come into play. as in I don't want to realize this is a dream because I don't know what might happen to me-so the subconscious blocks the realization. So if we can somehow reinforce the fact that dreams can exist in a real world just not this one that might help us to become more lucid. And like you say nothing bad can actually happen because you're going to wake up anyway. And if you're quite lucid you can just ignore the dream scenery and people and say things like "hey dream show me something good for me to know" or "hey dream take me to Paris" or hey dream what can I do to heal my bad back?" How about "hey dream give me a great piece of music I can play on my piano" or show me a great picture I can draw that will bring in some good money. Or 'hey dream how can we solve this problem at work?" or "hey dream send love to that person I'm having a hard time with." The unscene presence behind the dream is connected to universal knowledge. thx for your interest in my post. Keep in touch if you have any other ideas. Robert Waggoner is recommended. |

Thank you for sharing, kreg! I think lucid dreams can be quite interesting. Another technique to realize you're in a dream is to look at your clock, I've heard. And yes, usually in lucid dreams you can do everything... if you can control them, that is. I agree that che car in your dreams may symbolize your own self. Sending many hugs to you

[QUOTE=kreg;63981 aThe authors of LD books give you some techniques. One is to look at your hands or rub them together. In this way you realize it's a dream.

Not finding your car, may mean you cannot find away out of a real life situation you are in.
