I had a dream last night that I think could mean something about me psychologically or if it's just a dream and nothing more.

In my dream, my friend had invited me to his house for dinner to meet his family. His house was big, and everything inside was really nice, artsy, and clean; I was afraid to touch anything.

His family were all nice. but they were better than me in seemingly every way- socially charming, well-dressed, and accomplished- everyone was some kind of engineer, doctor, scientist, scholar, or otherwise highly important/intelligent person. I think I was wearing a baggy hoodie, messy hair, and did not know how to converse with the people.

We had Japanese food, and the food was beautifully prepared. The table was set impeccably, and there were nice vases and things. He's half-asian, so my dream self probably assumed his Asian half of the family was Japanese.

Sitting there, I felt "outcast" or inferior. What's worse, my friend was not at the dinner for some reason, which made me feel kind of lonely.

Does this mean something? Do I have some sort of inferiority complex that this is a manifestation of?

I'm not sure that dreams necessarily have meaning. But it does sound like you felt inferior in this dream, so maybe that's the way you feel in real life.
Thanks for this!

My first thought is that you feel that you were being harshly judged...meaning (in a dream) you were judging yourself. Yet it sounds like you had a strong sense of an independent appreciation for the beauty and quality around you.

It's a special dream, I think; one worth considering.

"To see a house in your dream represents your own soul and self. Specific rooms in the house indicate a specific aspect of your psyche. In general, the attic represents your intellect, the basement represents the unconscious, etc. If the house is empty, then it indicates feelings of insecurity."
