I was telling a good friend of mine about my dream last night. In it, my identical twin nephews, 20, were playing a piano and they were about 3 again. My friend said its a recurring theme of mine: every time I dream of my kids (or my sister's) they are young kids again. In reality, they are 19, 21 and 23. I can't think of a time that I dreamed of them when they were their natural ages. Anybody care to give their 2 cents? Maybe I think of them as kids because they ARE my kids? Or maybe I want to relive their childhoods?

Whenever I dream about my son (he's 32) he's somewhere between age 2 and age 9. Never any older. In reality, he's a very mature and together young man. So I think the dreams are a combination of my mothering instincts and wishing he was "my baby" again.

For whatever reason my daughter (she's 35), in my dreams, is always an adult. Yet she is the less emotionally mature of my two children.
