I tend to gasp and my head shakes like- wake up!
I don’t know what is happening. It has been 6 months. When I am about to sleep, I tend to shake my head to try shake myself awake for some reason Does this happen to you? Is it ptsd? Am I trying to prevent myself from sleeping due to fear of being unsafe while asleep? Am I stressed? Am I triggered? Do I feel unsafe? Some questions to ask my therapist. |

When my anxiety is acting up, I sometimes get that too. For me, it is a sign of exhaustion. Once I'm able to get more, quality rest, the startling awake settles down. The only problem is that it sometimes becomes part of a cycle that makes it hard to get decent sleep.
