I just woke up from a grisly dream. I dreamed I was a bird keeper. I had a bunch of birds of various species in cages on my property. Then I unexpectedly got sick. Something akin to a stroke. It was serious. I was away for weeks in the hospital and rehabbing afterward. When I got home, my birds were no longer alive, and animal services was after me for neglect. Nobody had stopped by to check on them while I was in the hospital.

On a smaller scale, this did happen once in real life. I was hospitalized for four days, and even though family members had a key to my apartment, and I asked them to, nobody came by and fed my cat. At least he survived and was only hungry.

Waking up from dreams like this reminds me how little I was cared about in my past. I try to leave it behind and go on with my life now, but then I dream something like this and it brings everything back.
