Correlation is suggestive at best. I have 3 biology degrees. The actual research on this, I've done, and I've only come across this suggestion once. Once. Once is not a statistic. It's a datum at best.

Plenty of medical assumptions on the forefront of Diabetes itself, are completely wrong. As well, plenty of people employed by associations and charities for such illnesses that seem to be 'helping'. More evidence by online science analysts indicating lifestyle theraputics are completely backwards, backed by lots of data. I've lost 14 kg by diet alone within 3 months, second time around, completely against this wonderful industry-pushed 'food pyramic'. There's your 'medical studies'.

I agree. I've read a fair amount of content on the Diabetes Warrior website. Just because we can lower blood sugar by injecting insulin doesn't mean we should.

Since you know and I what works, why should we even bother with doctors, I wonder? I carry health insurance only because my wife is a medical enigma.

Here in Canada, it's the only way I can get bloodwork done. Beyond that, medical insurance only covers a fraction of things that I've not seen for this, for over 15 years. My situation is hugely convoluted by money-gaining government workers that won't answer any communications for a month or so, in light of getting a referral. i'm caught up in that situation now for an ENT referral between two doctors/specialists that simply don't listen.

Having one chronic is one thing. Having another and not being told which starts the other, or what relationship they have (other than 'it could'), then managing the labyrinth of 'government professionals', is beyond tolerable. Having three degrees in related stuff and just wanting answers while my life flounders, is inducing crazy.

Any suggestions welcome. Trying to manage all this. Cheers

Have you checked to see if there are medical studies that would accept you as a participant?

For example, if you had a rare neuroimmune disorder, you could visit the SRNA website to see what trials are looking for participants.

Have you tried to contact any researchers who study sleep patterns or attended symposia. (Some might offer free admission to patients.)

I'm too busy navigating my local crap. I don't have 3 years of "perhaps", regardless of what my education and industry forefront is. Participants don't get lifetime administration. Trials are just that.

So moving on, I'm finding I have a Narcolepsy Type 2 possibility. My GP is a temporary guy that's 100% government (Canada) and he's useless. But he's gone in 3 weeks, so my regular GP is coming back. I have more sleep tests (done 2 already) and my CPAP machine is horrible. It simply doesn't work for me.

Costs for meds for this, if it is this, are steep and apparently are severe meds like SSRIs. I don't want antidepression meds. That's introducing a horrible state of affairs.

I'm just beside myself that this is happening. The sleep is SAD level of complete inclusion. At this point I don't know what to say or do. I've tried everything. If I get more advice on breathing techniques, I'll freak out.

Any advice?

It helped last night. I slept this afternoon, as per all this week and last week and before that.

This disorder keeps changing. I'm in front of SAD season which is a normal horrible time, but now I'm getting more normal sleep. And since I'm type 2 narcolepsy (assumption), there is no orexin depletion, or minimal.

Three doctors appointments this week, and more sleep tests coming.
