Does anyone here suffer insomnia. I have tried OTC sleep aids but the majority of them cause me to be hyper yet tired can't explain it. I have suffered from insomnia or lack of sleep since childhood. I can't unwind enough for bedtime. My thoughts and emotions are flying by me and especially at night. I try meditation which is really great in the daytime. I have an app called better sleep it's great but won't get me the sleep I need. I try herbal teas. Tomorrow I start a new job and anxiety is all over the place.

I too have had issues with sleep since childhood. I felt better on no sleep than a bad night of sleep. I would wait for my parents to go to bed then a bit longer for them to sleep and then depending on the time of the year I’d sneak out the window or turn the flashlight on and read. I’m almost 66 now and still struggle, but physically I can not handle missing sleep anymore. A pdoc about 10 yrs ago put me on a high dose of ambien and that helped. I was able to get into a routine. I now look forward to bedtime and enjoy dreaming.

I'm so sorry yes my sleep problems stem for childhood traumas and sometimes violent home. I was actually afraid to sleep because I needed or protect my mom and sis. My emotions are all over the place. I use to see a t. In fact went through several as they decided to change careers or seel better pay and that left me with more trust issues than when I went in. I use to be on many meds ambien being one and yes the sleep was good but I would wake up in different places of the house. I start a new job tomorrow and I hope I get at least 3 or 4 hours.

I take Seroquel for sleep. I've tried everything else and nothing worked or the effects wore off.

I have insomnia but also due to daytime sleepiness/narcolepsy. Today I spent most of asleep. It's 9pm and I don't know what to do.
