Hi, Aimee,
Can you be a bit more specific? Exactly what have you done? What success have you had? For how long? For me, (and for most people, according to the research I've read), it's the anxiety about the quit, more than the actual quit itself, that is the road block. Have you looked through the posts here? There is a load of information on quitting. Do you plan to use a quit aide? Which one? Have you set a quit date? Be sure your date is connected with your quit aide if you have chosen to use one. Using one doubles your chances of success. Make sure that you have plans in place for those times when you have cravings -- and you *will* have cravings. Those who fail to plan are really planning to fail. Change your behaviors so that you are no longer on "automatic pilot." You want to be actively aware of everything you are doing for a few weeks at least, as you gain new behaviors to replace your old smoking behaviors. So drive a new route to work; rearange your furniture at home; drink tea instead of coffee; and sit in a different chair as you watch tv or get on the computer. If you're used to a sickarette after a meal, brush your teeth immediately. Be conscously aware of all your doings so you won't be reaching for those sickarettes automatically. Drink LOTS of water to help flush out the toxins. And eat lots of fruits and veggies too for the same reason. They will help. And please understand that each time we quit, it gives us an opportunity to learn from our experience. Don't give up! We're here for you. Keep coming; post about your experiences - what's working and what's not. We care! ![]() Peace!
