Quite smoking before and remember it not being hard to quit. And that was cold turkey.

I was smokin 2 packs and got myself down to one pack. Now i'm going for no packs.

Trying again and these first two days have been torture. I got me my gum, but trying not to chew it. So far today only one piece and that was with coffee. Yesterday i had 4 total pieces. I plan on being gum and smoke free by the 7th of Sept. No reason for that specific date, just a goal.

I just hate being called grumpy.

Thats funny Vickie.

Well it got a little easier. I got sick and in bed now. Having the urges but blowing the nose is more prominent.

Oh, my goodness, take care of you. I always found it harder to smoke with a cold. Maybe this was for the best.

Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

How come you want to cut back on the gum as well? Just curious because studies found that most people who use nicotine replacement therapy don't use it as directed (e.g., shorten the time they take it for) and... There has been some speculation that that has made it harder for people than quitting otherwise might be...

Sorry to hear that you are sick. Wonder if it is the gunk etc starting to move around... I'm kinda hacked off at the governments for not being honest about the whole quitting thing (and the fact that most get sick BEFORE they get better). Hang in there. I think feeling sick helps indeed. Apparently a hard time is when you start to feel better (since typically one ups the smoking once one starts to feel better after a sickness). Hang in there.

Thank you Kim. Wise words you shared.

I look at it with the gum its just another form of nicotene getting into my system and i want it all gone. I'm at about one piece a day and its usually in the morning. Yesterday i made it the whole day with none.

Its getting easier. I've put myself to the test a few times and passed. One time i failed and that cig tasted absolutely awful and made me so lightheaded. So i learned my lesson all over again and real fast.

I'm just gonna keep on truckin'
