midnight is the time i am quitting smoking. two of my good friends are quitting as well. ive been here before. i am taking chantix. my latest hopeful thought is that i can handle any emotion that me come up...its only an emotion it cant kill me. i think that is how i finally was able to quit drinking 8 years ago. would really appreciate any help anybody can give me. and if anyone else is quitting maybe support each other.
smoking really smells horrible...it costs mega bucks and it will kill me...so why the heck do i smoke??????????? kasva |

710 pm january 1 2010...arggghh...the mind just loves to try and trick me. i just have to keep reminding myself i can handle any emotion. its so easy for me to say in my head ill quit another day...blahblahblah...kasva

bravo. i applaud your efforts. it'll be tough (naturally), but you know this is the right thing. just take it one day at a time, you can do this, keep your eye on the prize bud. |

congratulations, i wish you the best! it sounds like you're a strong person who has kicked an addiction before, and you have the pieces in place ready to kick this - so i bet you will succeed if you just take it slow. i particularly like this quote:

Well congrats!! I am quitting today Feb 10 yesterday i had my last one. Today I quit drinking too. Yesterday was my last day of drinking. I am ready to be healthy!! thanks for this post!

Im on day 6. you can do this, after 48 hours you no longer have nicotene in your system. so just find triggers and change routines. thats what ive been doing. Like i used to have a cigarette and a cup of coffee in the dark kitchen in the morning, now i go to my computer with my coffee.
change it up! You will do fine! Colleen
