I smoked my last cigarette on saturday. Its now tuesday, and the cravings arent as bad as I thought they were gonna be.

I can only think its because I truly want to quit.

well see!

I care! I am not a current smoker but I do know that nicotine is one of the most addictive substances out there. You are doing a hard thing and having success. Congratulations! I am glad to hear the cravings are not as bad as you thought. Keep going!! I will check back to see how you are doing.

Don't feel discouraged C thomas - PC is a little slow during the day. I think that's great you decided to quit. My husband tried several time and he even bought that 'green cigarette' that has a battery and you do inhale some nicotine but it doesn't have tabacco. My oldest brother quit 20 years ago at the prompting of his young son. He told his dad that he wanted as a birthday present, for daddy to quit. That was it - he quit cold turkey. Some people can qiuit just like that with no help and others struggle with different methods. I think you're right, you really have to want it and that's why it's seems easier where a person can quit cold turkey. I've never been a smoker so I don't know the powerful addiction. I commend you for making this choice and the best of luck to you.

I care! I can tell you from experience ( 38 years!) that what you are doing is wonderful, and hard to do. I was blessed while my husband was in hospital for surgery, that God took my cigarettes from me. I woke up one morning, not craving, not thinking about smoking, nothing. I haven't touched them since then. That was July of 2008. If I do say so myself, I'm proud of me. I never wanted to quit, but some things you don't question. Take Care. HUGS.........Very proud of you. (((Cthomas)))♥

I care too. Quitting is so difficult and you have made the hardest part already, you made the decision. Now it is just a matter of sticking to being a nonsmoker. Time will pass and it gets easier. The cravings get less intense by the day. I am now quit 106 days and very proud of myself. I go to Quitnet.com for chat room and it helps a lot. Good luck in your quit.
