Mann, Its so hard to quit smoking ciggs when everyone in your house smokes them.

I ask them not to smoke them around me, but do they care? Nope.

I'm pretty much screwed on quiting ciggs till I move out, But when I move out I plan to quit since none of my G-parents dont smoke, which will be alot more easy on me.

Plus I have no job, so even when I ask for them, My G-ma wont buy them, though I know it might get me mad, But it will help me quit >_<

Any tips on how to stop or ease the craving?

Sugar free cinnamon gum, the hotter the better... chew it by the pack if you have to. It keeps your mouth occupied, and the warm/hot sensation seemed to be preferable to mint for me when I quit. Also, stay as busy as possible.

Good luck, Rainbowz. I told myself I could an hour longer and worked to keep my mind on something else. After awhile I got pretty good at keeping my mind off the craving.

You can do it.

Hello Yoshi,

You're doing really well to stick to the desire to give up. I agree with the cinnamon gum because it tricks the brain into thinking you have the heat of a cigarette in your mouth.

The "Delay" tactic is great that helped me a lot. I would give myself a treat if I put off for an hour having a cigarette; then as I delayed more and more I would put the money I would have used for buying cigarettes into a tin.

I gave up permanently 3 years ago after a bad bout of vertigo and since then I've kept up putting the money in the tin. I now have health insurance whereas before giving up I couldn't afford it. And the last time I went into the tin I was able to afford a shopping trip (took me a while to get out of the house but I did it).

Was also able to buy another laptop, an LED Digital TV, new clothes and uggies...I love not smoking!

I hope you do too when you realise what freedom you achieve with smoking and it's not just beating the addiction...it's the freedom to do more with your money...

Rhiannon
