I'm amazed to find that even after four months smoke free, I still have terrible cravings. I'm sure they will pass but It makes me sad for all of the young kids who start smoking to be cool like I did Its so hard to stop once you start..........

I have been smoke free for three years (February 15, 2008) and I STILL have cravings! They are not as bad or as frequent anymore though, and only hit at certain times (like after a really large and satisfying meal). Another problem is when a coworker comes back from smoking and I can smell it on his clothes. Most of the time it makes me physically sick to my stomach and I have to turn on a fan facing him. But other times, like RIGHT NOW, it smells super good and I would kill for a smoke.

Whenever I get a craving I just remember that I worked super hard to quit and I'm NOT going to do it again, that cigarettes cost $9 a pack, and even if I did smoke I would never get the same satisfaction I used to. Once in a great while if my friend is smoking I will take a quick drag... not because it tastes good, but rather to reaffirm the fact that it tastes terrible and makes me sick!

Hang in there... it will get easier every single day. Congratulations for kicking the nasty habit!!! (I smoked for almost 20 years)
