I have been toying with the idea for awhile, i bought the patches , I have an e cigarette and I kept saying , one more pack ... just one . Well I am officially out and have bought no more , so today's the day... Wish me luck, as I will need it. I have smokes for 25 years or so and its time. I am also introducing walking and softball into my routine. Wish me luck.

You can do it! Just think of all the good reasons NOT to smoke!

Good for you! I'm quitting too. I have been for a month. It is nerve-wracking, but it is so worth it. I can smell again. People I love are proud of me after I have given them so much to feel bad about. I have more time and energy. I love it.

Be sure to use your patches. I cheat sometimes and it is always on days I forget to use them. One thing I am doing different is I am allowing myself to fail once in a while. I have a ciggie but I don't beat myself up. I figure if I have one now and then, it's still a huge improvement from chain-smoking. Of course, it's not okay, but it doesn't discourage me. I know that if it did, I'd just buy another pack and give up altogether because that is how I'm wired. I hope I was able to help you out. Hang in there. It's rough, but it really does get better!

Canacrip that is how I am wired too. I plan on wearing the patches all the way through the final step. I know Ill get a sense that I beat this when I haven't. I also don't want to gain 40lbs in this process. uggggg Thank you, I need the support as my partner is NOT quitting.

This is a good time to be very stubborn and refuse to hear anything your head has to say to you.

Good for you! I know it's been a while since you've posted LolaCabanna, I hope you have found continued success in your quit & if not, try try again!

Tomorrow is one week for me & I've been using the patch. I'm 31, smoked regularly since just before turning 18 & probably had my 1st cig when I was 9 or 10. This is my 1st real attempt at quitting & I'm hoping to just need one. I feel like I'm going insane, though!

I've had two puffs off of a cig & that's it as far as cheating. I've seen numerous posts around the net of people having one here & there & still being ok & it's sooo tempting. I'm trying to find a reason to justify having just oneeeee. I'm really struggling with the physical withdrawals. The patch was very helpful the first 3/4 days but since I feel like they're broken. :/

Anyway, I know it gets easier but will take time & effort. And strength! I'm committed to quitting, I just wish it didn't hurt so much. :/
