Why do i have such a problem when it comes to talking face to face or even over the phone. If i cant text i will avoid talking at all.
Thanks for this!

hi candy4339. I prefer texting myself instead of phone calls. I feel it's their problem if they don't like it, don't call me. I can talk to a stranger but I do avoid talking
to people I know. HUGS!

There is such a thing as "social anxiety". I know from reading your introductory post you have one adult son at home. But if otherwise you've spent a significant amount of time avoiding social situations, social anxiety may be something you've developed. This is something I'm familiar with myself since, although I'm married, I otherwise lead a mostly reclusive lifestyle. And I experience some social anxiety as well. Here's a link to an article, from PC's archives, on the subject of social anxiety:

You're not alone. I prefer text. It's more self-paced and allows me to respond when I'm ready. It also takes off some of the demand of maintaining a conversation and having to be present every moment when you're with someone. I'd do everything through e-mail or text if possible.

Them: "I tried to call you!"

Me: "I know, I watched my phone ring."

If I have to choose, really prefer phone to in person conversations.
