I tend to hide my social anxiety pretty well (I think ) but one of the worst ways it shows up is the fact that I almost never reach out to others. Often times I feel as though I will bother them, and I'm afraid of rejection.
I'm okay at making small talk and typically have a good time when I'm near people, but I have trouble making good friends out of acquaintances. I feel really ashamed of this fact, especially considering the feeling comes and goes. Sometimes in the past I have been able to reach out more easily - but when someone lets me down, it feels like I'm back to square one again. I'm thankful to find this community where I can practice reaching out and opening up in a safe way. |

I can definitely empathize with you since I seem to struggle with many of the same things you mentioned. Sometimes I feel very lonely and demoralized. Wish I knew what to say that would help. My heart goes out to you!

I can empathize.... I hope for you that the feeling of shame lessens.
There are wise people here, who also have empathy. I have found elsewhere, some who claim to be Wise are not over endowed with empathy (not anyone on these forums) I'm also thankful that you and others have found this community, which is a safe place to practice opening up and reaching out in a safe way. I'm sending respect and hugs to you! __________________ |
