I'm about 20 pounds overweight. I generally like the way I look, but I'm starting to feel unfit. After a big bike ride the other day, I was looking red and sweaty. I tried to cross the road and this car full of men sped past wolf whistling at me. Usually I can brush it off, but it really got to me. It was very hurtful and now I'm afraid of people seeing me exercise.

Anyone have similar experiences? I'm just angry

Sweetheart I turn super duper red after and during my exercise. Everyone thinks it's because I am out of shape. But in fact I'm not out of shape it's just how my capillaries are and I will just have to get use to the fact that I look like an out of shape person when working out. I am always told to breathe during my exercises because I turn red. Well I AM BREATHING! That's what I want to shout at them. I don't know if this was your main concern but I felt your pain when you mentioned it. Also with the hoot and hollering from the men how do you know they really didn't think you were attractive. You can never assume. And if they were doing it to make fun of you. Who cares. They are immature and need to get a life rather then trying to put people down. Best of luck. I hope this post makes you feel a little bit better.
Thanks for this!

I'm really sorry that happened and it made you so uncomfortable. What a bunch of jerks!! But you know what, screw them!!!!! And well done you for exercising!!!!!! Please don't let this isolated incident put you off. I totally understand why you found this hurtful, but these guys were just being jackas$es. The main thing is to keep on excercising because that is a great way to do something good for yourself. Honestly, whenever I see anyone exercising - whatever shape they're in - I think "good for them". And I'm sure that's what most people think. So, good for you!!!

Yay!!! Good for you! You rock!!!! Also, I forgot to add in my previous post that if you don't get really sweaty when you exercise then you're NOT DOING IT RIGHT!!!!!!! Wishing you many more great workouts!!!!

I exercise at home because people used to make comments when I walked like "good for you" patronizing me because I am plus-sized. I can't do a gym, people stare. But guess what? I'm in better shape than most of them. Ha!

Hi everyone, just thought I'd give an update!
So since posting this I've dedicated myself to exercise and healthy eating.
I'm so happy to say that I've lost 20 pounds so far

if it weren't for your encouragement, i probably would have shied away from the exercise I've now come to love. So thank you!

take care
Thanks for this!

I think you're taking this way to personally. They were just being little boys at heart. Escpecially when men are in a group, they act silly and that's all.
