Big step forward for my confidence today

This isn't easy for me to say as it's not something I like to talk about, but due to my sheltered upbringing and home schooling I didn't have a lot of opportunity to really date... At all. And even into my young adult life it's hard for me to get out of my comfort zone due to lack of self-confidence, even online. So today I managed to work up the courage to join an active online dating site, fill my profile out in full and post a couple of pictures of me. It's still a work in progress as I have no idea what, if anything, will come out of it. But just being able to put myself out there in such an environment where I would have to meet someone in my area eventually is a huge step for me. Wish I could offer a step-by-step guide on how to get out of your comfort zone, but it's different for different people. Just saying though, if I can do it then you can too whatever it may be

Congratulations! That is a huge step for you and I am glad that you did it! I was never shy about posting my pictures on websites or dating sites because I always had the confidence online but not in real life. I chat and talk to a lot of people, but am really quiet and shy in real life. I wasn't home schooled, but I am not social.
