I've not posted in this forum often. I've long been caught between low self-esteem and guilt for feeling any self-pride. Somewhere along the way building self-esteem lost its importance for me. Consequently, I'm a poor one to offer any advice or support on this subject. But Christopher Robin and Pooh Bear, I think, would be outstanding counselors. __________________ My dog mastered the "fetch" command. (((((Fuzzy))))) You are worthy of belonging and self love. I know that for me, depending on where I am mentally / emotionally, sometimes, no matter how much I want it to be, it is just not peachy. It is not sunshiney. It just sucks. But I think that even in our pain, we can take care of ourselves. I see you doing compassionate (and what look to me, like empowering things) for yourself and others. You post lots of supportive messages to others here. And you reach out for help. That can be hard to do for some people. Do you mind me recommending you a book? Self Compassion by Kristin Neff? It is a book I like a lot. There's also Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach. Reading some of this has brought myself peace. Some of the things these authors talk about, are also in the realm of self forgiveness. I wish you rainbows on cloudy days, and starry skies on your dark evenings.

Abusers are excruciatingly insecure and take out their anger on others. Take that anger/hatred and use it for something positive.....in my case (after a childhood of abuse, and abuse by a husband for 31 years; I used that energy and wrote 2 books and started school at 60. There is only one you in the world and you do deserve love and support. Honor all of your feelings, and don't allow anyone to decide who and what you are. YOU get to decide that.

The part of that anger is healthy because it proves you still love yourself enough to let it upset you when someone mistreats you. |

Abusers will always be there I'm afraid, and they won't stop, they're often relentless and you can't change that but you can change how you react to it and what you do with it. If you can spend less time with them and more time with those who support you over time it'll help build you're self worth, you say you don't deserve support but you do, remember that.
