I know this is an old thread, just wanted to add, I don't believe we are "taught" selfcare, that's such a great pity. I never even knew what it was (no, seriously) before I hit my mid thirties. Lol, a while on from there, I still struggle with said thing, I guess it's a mindset? So, so many other people I know, are/where like I am, it simply doesn't register often, and, yet, it's crucial for a happy/healthy life! Ty for raising awareness xx

I think self care can look like a lot of things, but really it's just assessing your needs and fulfilling them. For example, I get stressed out when my bed isn't made (I don't know why). Some mornings, self care for me is making my bed. If I've had a long day, self care is watching my favorite TV show. To help me feel less anxious, self care is exercising. It depends on my needs and what I know fulfills them.
