Can someone recommend some books or websites? I have never ever been a confident person. I can’t even fake it that well most of the time. .

I’ve always been shy & introverted. I have been badly bullied by family, my husband, my husbands mom, some classmates, a few former employers & coworkers too.

This has affected my self esteem. I’ve had former friends spread gossip about me too.

I just picked up a book at a thrift store called "Self Esteem" by McKay and Fanning, 3rd Edition.

Based of cognitive approaches to building self esteem.

It looks good.

You can see whether your library has it or get it used at abebooks.com

Btw, There's also a book called "The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defence" ... I'd say, like me, you need to learn to defend yourself.
