Is this the correct forum to ask this question? Is loving yourself a concept of self-worth rather than self-esteem? In any case, I've struggled with this basic issue for years. I thought I was better, but realized that deep down I still don't love myself.

In my mind, it's kind of an abstract concept and there really isn't one definitive answer. Different people place emphasis on different areas and some ignore it completely.
For me personally, it's more of a matter of self acceptance.

Thanks, Fuzzybear.
![]() Steve, so how do you go about accepting yourself? |

I keep a "whatever will be, will be" view on life. I am what I am and that isn't going to change whether I like it or not, so I accept it. I may never be a rock star, have a six pack, cure cancer or save the world but that's fine.
Trying to build a castle out of Popsicle sticks and glue will pretty much always end up as an expensive mess. Trying to build a model house instead will yield a nice little decoration.
