Step one is probably hardest. So many people already try to help me with my self esteem issues. So step three probably will not be bad, unless they give up on me before I get there. I was working on step two for other reasons regarding mental health. Thanks for the tips.

I think self esteem is just a chance.if you have it you are lucky and if you dont have it you are unlucky.and nobody can improve it.but if you can improve it then you are so lucky.

I basically have NO self-esteem. It has been squashed and trampled on since early childhood, creating in me extremely negative thinking. In fact, I have so much self-hatred that I fail to see why others could possibly like me. I need constant reassurance, very tiring on those in my life. Is there hope for someone who is in my position? I think if I could improve my self-esteem, maybe some of my other issues in life might just fall into place and not become real issues to begin with. Opinions? Welcome to the self-esteem forum!
I have the same issue. I feel I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life and I am currently 17 years old. I haven't had a conversation with any girls I have been interested in for 2 years now as a result of depression and anxiety that probably were caused by my self hatred.

What you mean with Self-Nurturing? How can I find my positive qualities and believe them that they are true?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for making this forum, Doc. I lost self esteem in later life due to some bad decisions, bad luck and bad self talk. So having tools and techniques to reprogram the mindset would be great.

They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they've never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them... because in truth, I am that monster.

You can find strengths in anything. Something as simple as being a good friend or something as big as being a survivor of a horrible situation. You find those strengths about yourself and just keep reminding yourself of them.

I can't seem to keep healthy relationships personal or on business. It's like I have this invisible sign that says "Run as fast and as far away from me as you can". I'm pretty down too earth... Nobody else notices or gives me time to realize that I'm not a phony or a fake. I don't understand it. I would really like it if someone just told me straight to my face... Then I wouldn't have so many paranoid thoughts of what their thinking about me

I have horrible low self esteem and I'm constantly always comparing myself to others and don't think I'm a good person at all. I don't like who I am and I'm unhappy. I've been abused so many times in my life and right now I'm going through depression.

Hello everyone,
I am a student at a university, and I we were asked to join an online support group for the class. It had to deal with an interest or something we struggle with. I chose self-esteem because it is something I struggle with, accepting myself for who I really truly am, and knowing that I am just as good as anyone else. I really look forward to getting tips, and hearing other people testimonies.
Thank you.
