Hi Ya'll!

I know I haven't reminded here but Grounding Skills Hosted Support Chat will be tomorrow night at 7pm est.

YOu may be wondering what Grounding is. There are good definitions in the PTSD forum on a sticky note.

How could you use Grounding in dealing with abuse?

In a nut shell Grounding is anything SAFE that keeps you in the moment and not allowing your mind to drift away while dealing with a trigger.

So, alot of people have told me that they don't use Grounding Skills but that they use "Mindfulness."

So, the Topic tomorrow night will be

Mindfulness in the left corner vs. Grounding in the right corner...

Hopefully we'll all have a better understanding as to what to use when.

You can come check it out and not talk, no one is going to bother you or get you to talk OR give us your opinions...

I hope to see you there.....

Take care you guys oh and hey, the only difference imo between abuse and Dissociative Disorders is that the DIDers created alters to deal with the abuse and you guys didn't have to yet that doesn't make your ordeal any less painful, ya know?

Thinking of ya'll,

crew

Not looking at him is about keeping aspects of self hidden/secret. We know that is not the healthy choice. Keep working on this - you will get there.

Accept there are parts. Be kind and gentle with them. Working with parts and feelings is the key to happiness. We have been happy before when listened to them and accepted them and were open to feelings. Write in your journal - it is safe to do so.

Bipolarmother!

Accessing chatrooms is simple. Since you have posted more than six (6) posts and your status has changed to "Member", you can enter chatrooms anytime. To enter chatrooms, click "Chat" button. And a new window opens that takes you to "lobby". There are certain pre-defined rooms, a list of which can be viewed, if you hover mouse pointer over "Chat" button. Once you're in chatrooms, you can create and change rooms at your will.

And the answer to your second question is that all chats and other events are scheduled in PC "Calendar". Just click the "Calendar" button and you can see all the information related to different chats and events.

The good thing about this is that it's all pretty simple and self explanatory. If you wander around the site a bit, you'll know many things. And in case of any queries, you can always post questions in forums, we all very much welcome that!

I hope this helps somewhat!
