Hi I'm new here...but I am tormented by past abuse...by foster parents, as well as an ex-husband..and being raped as a thirteen year old kid by two guys in one night...they were both buddies to each other...add to that teasing and being made fun of because of being big and having a hard time sitting still because of nerves AND medication..Oh yes I'm angry...Why people think they have the right to act ugly towards others(especially those they think are 'different') is something I just cannot fathom...I was raised not to tease or be mean..what's up with all the meanies?

hi kim and welcome!

i'm sorry to hear about what you've gone thru. nobody, especially a child should have to endure what you have. i'm a survivor as well.

we can't control what happened to us as children Abused as a foster child, raped, and abused by my ex husband! however, we can try to have some control in our "today". are you seeing a therapist to work on some of these issues?

you've found alot who can relate and listen to you here.

again welcome.

sending peaceful, healing wishes,

kd

I am a former foster parent and I am so sorry to hear that you were abused while in foster care. There is absolutely no excuse for it.

Do you have someone to help you with your feelings about being raped?

Please surround yourself with people who care about you.

I often wonder if my mental health support staff REALLY understand everything I went through....sometimes they get upset with me when I tell them I don't want a bunch of friends right now, just a few who understand me...and they seem to want me to 'act as if' everything's okay when I am having a bad time with abuse flashbacks..I have a hard time going about my day when this happens...yes I take care of my responsibilities, but my staff always keep the pressure on even when I am dealing with memories of my past...Why?

I understand exactly what you are saying!!! They always want to talk about something that you dont want to talk about and make comments when you are talking, I thought that these Mental Health bods were there to listen!!! I dont often go to my appointments for that exact reason. I know that is a stupid thing to do but anywaaaaaaaay, they're paid to listen coz eventually we'll get to the point hey?? Big siiiiiiiigh from me!!
