How could this be? How could I not remember til now? I"m so distraught and afraid.

That can happen, we can surpress memories of abuse for many years, even 30 years and these memories can suddenly come forward.

Do you have a therapist that can help you with this?

Try not to let it upset you, it is just a memory, not happening now. It is helpful to address this with a therapist so you can work on resolving it.

Yes it is strange scary because I was told I "disocciate" by a few different providers, and had flashbacks that were short little flashes of light that ended very fast. Its SO different now, a longer memory of bad things I hate it. Been reliving it all day it seems, I am on waiting list for counselor at place due to me being uninsured.
