Yup, the difference between healthy parents and dysfunctional parents.

I really believe that such a family, as you speak of-- the "building up" kind, is truly a minority.........
there are so few people that have such a past/family.

like the saying goes--- "childhood is something you spend the rest of your life getting over"....

thinking of you Fuzzy,

They're supposed to, but unfortunately they don't always do it. I've found just because they are blood related does not mean they are family of mine. I have family that has no blood ties to me, and hardly any family that is blood related. I created my own family once I was able to cut loose all those I did not want around. I hope you have the ability to do that, just because they are family, and close family, does not mean you are forced to be their family or communicate with them at all. Anyone can have a child and financially support said child, that's not what makes them family, caring for the person and doing what you can to make sure they don't have a hard time is what makes someone family.
