so i dont know if im even allowed to talk about this here.. i havent been able to talk to anyone irl about it. I saw someone from my past a few weeks ago. just seeing his face brought on a panic attack. I thought i had forgiven them and moved on but it still keeps finding ways to come back and hit me like a on of bricks. can anyone help me? all i want it to be free!!!!!

Hi Pheonix.

I don't know how much help I can offer in terms of getting past it, I'm afraid. While it takes an incredible degree of selflessness and courage to forgive someone of something like what you went through (which I might add you should be proud of yourself for ), it doesn't necessarily mean the feelings associated with it are going to go away. Something as "in your face" as seeing an abuser again is going to almost always be very difficult.

On the bright side, you did something incredibly courageous by forgiving them, and for what it's worth from a stranger, I am incredibly proud of you. It is something I don't think I would be able to do.

Do you see a T? S/he might have more valuable insight as to how to work past this particular aspect.

I hope I was of at the very least some reassurance to you, and I apologize I am not able to offer advice more specific to your question. I wish you the very best. You are in my prayers.

Hugs,
Harley

Hi Pheonix, is there anyway that you can get a therapist?

Dear Pheonix13,

I'm sorry.
I understand.

I know something that might help, but it isn't legal....yet.

Most sincerely,
