Literally appalling.

I can't believe that. When the judge handed down the sentence did she personally apologize for her ineptness to the child and her family?

Stunned...just stunned.

Are you kidding me on this:
" But supporters of short people say it's about time someone recognizes the unique challenges they face."

What about someone standing up for the child? OMG, I am so mad.

So what if he will not survive in prison due to his size.....

Did he think about her not being able to survive in her own mind or skin any more.... Did he think about how many times she might try to kill her self over this for she cannot get past the man created wound.... Did he think of the husband she will have one day and how confused he will be when she with drawls from him sexually for she now has to deal with PTSD?

NO HE DID NOT...................... (and) and the judge must be crazier than WE all feel.

Sexual Offender too short for prison??

Man that judge needs to visit some prisons. Child molestors and child rapists are put in isolation because they are the lowest on the totem pole of prison hierachy. He would have recieved the same protection from the general population just like other convicted child molestors and rapists that are doing their time in isolation.

Yea he's short but he belongs in prison. I don't see that judge being re-elected.

Prison just might be the answer for every female born or to be born.... for even though the people that live in there are criminals - they do have and live by one code.... they do not like child molesters, any one that harms a child does not deserve to live in their minds.

Just my inner thoughts on this matter (being a child that was molested by 4 diff men).... no hate mail please.

What a life though having females born and living in prisons just because of the heirachy. I think that it would be taken by the women not as a safety measure it was intended for but as a punishment for crimes not yet committed against them - men able to walk around free but females born and raised in prison like homes and facilities. Men are molested and raped too. So that concept would have to apply to males too. and then what is there everyone living in prison isolation and systems.

I think a warped sense of this was tried - the guy running the "show was called hitler

No I don't think having women born and raised in prisons is going to solve the situation. Unfortunately my idea of how to cure these clid molestors and so on would be considered inhumane among other things by todays standards--years ago this kind of thing was dealt with by taking the perp into a forset and nailing you know what to a tree and say your prized posession or your life and they left leaving an ax behind and then let the perpetrator make their own choice.

Since that is no longer seen as the way to go I "educate and change laws" where and when I can.

SORRY! - if what I wrote gave you the ideal that I think females should be born and raised in prison for their own safety..... for that was not what I meant.

I meant that all child molesters should go to prison for the criminals that are there dislike those kind (child molesters) and they do not like to let them stay alive for very long if they can help it - for even though they all have done some thing wrong at one time or another.... they still live by an unwritten code - that one does NOT harm a child.

I really wish that was true, but in my experience that "code" varies from prison to prison. I know of state prisons where those that hurt children are treated just like everyone else, by guards and inmates alike.

If we lived in a sane world, this judge would be thrown off the bench, disbarred, and sent to the state pen for a few months for good measure. I care about short people, too: children.

The case is from Cheyenne County, Nebraska and the judge in the case is District Judge Kristine Cecava.

This is the best contact information I could find. It might be enpowering and perhaps even helpful if they receive emails from ticked off survivors of abuse.

Clerk District Court
Edith Baumbach
PO Box 217
Sidney, NE 69162-0217
Phone: (308) 254-2814
E-mail: ediedc@hamilton.net

What bugs me, besides the obvious unfairness is that there is usually a segregrated section for "at risk" prisoners in protective custody such as victims of in-prison assault, transgendered men, developmentally disabled, highly public cases, etc. They DO have this in Nebraska. Why couldn't he go there?

I'm annoyed. If you are too, let's write and and voice our opinions.

So, I'm curious. I'm tiny. . .if there are rules to protect this guy from being "injured" or "hurt" in prison. . .where were the rules that were supposed to protect ME when I was being abused? Or better yet. . .WHERE THE HELL was this dumb broad when the LITTLE GIRL he was abusing was being hurt? I will bet you money she was smaller than him.

Some people just should not reproduce. . .stupidity breeds stupidity.

You can bet your sweet bippy this ding dong will be getting an email from me.

I will certainly send an email. I was also going to send a scathing email to the National Association for short statured adults, but then I saw this statement: http://www.nossaonline.org/
