Abuse is like being labeled. How do you get the label removed. Why does God allow abuse when ask God to stop it?

I guess it depends on what we think God's role is in the world. I used to think that God was kind of like a magician that could stop terrible things from happening. I no longer believe that God does that or is supposed to do that. But I do believe that God is with us, crying with us and holding us through the bad experiences if we can allow that.
But that's just what I believe.
