I am so pissed off. I have celiac disease so I can't eat wheat, rye, barley or oats because they make me extremely sick. So I am at my brother's house for Christmas. I brought a little food and a two pots and a griddle to be able to cook while I'm here and a wooden spoon and a spatula. They know I'm gluten free because of celiac. They didn't ask me anything about what I needed, and the last time I visited them (2 years ago- for 3 days their wedding) I brought all the food I needed for my trip. So me bringing what I need to eat is nothing new to them. This time I'm supposed to be here from Sunday to Friday. So I get here and bring my stuff in after a 6 hour drive. I took my bag (everything not food and cooking stuff) to the room they had for me. I asked where I could put my food and my brother said in the cabinet. The griddle didn't fit in the cabinet so I asked if there was somewhere I could put it. His reply was "If you need to bring all that ***** you can keep it in your room." He said he didn't want it making his kitchen messy. That they had to have a clean house. And now I'm being told that it is unreasonable for me to be upset that he called my stuff "*****". I'm the one who overreacted and was unreasonable to not want my stuff called "*****" and not to be told to keep my cooking stuff (which I need to stay healthy unless I'm going to eat sandwitches and cereal the whole time I'm here). Apparently my stuff is so awful that it would ruin everything for them to have it in their kitchen somewhere. I am so pissed. I regret even coming. It would have been so much easier just to stay at home. And I miss my kitties.

Googley.... I have a neice and nephew from two different siblings who have Celiac so we are so used to it. I keep some frozen food for them at my house and also a cookie sheet, frying pan and spatula that is just for them to use so that it doesn't get contaminated.

I'm sorry your brother doesn't educate himself and realize the amount of cross contamination that occurs in a kitchen.

I left my brother's house a day early. I just needed to get out of there. I'm glad to be home.

I'm happy to hear that you've gotten back home to your kitties and a safer place for you, physically & emotionally. Hopefully, your brother will become more aware of celiac disease and how complicated things can be ~ especially when other people remain unwilling to learn about it!

I'd try my best to refuse coming to their house hereafter.
