Once there was a little girl. She had a big pool in her back yard and loved to swim. Once day she was swimming. She was good at swimming underwater which was a good thing that day. The air was really buggy so every time she came up from under the water she had to swat at the bugs.
One time she was swatting and accidentally said something like, “these damn bugs!” Well, her dad heard her and he made her get out of the pool. She then learned that she was the most horrible little girl in the whole world. She had made a mistake, but that wasn’t ok. She learned that day that she should never make mistakes or she would not be acceptable and lovable. Life was very tough after that, since being perfect is a very hard thing for a little girl to do. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t be perfect all the time. She was sure she was the most horrible person in the world and no one would ever be able to like her, much less love her. She was a very sad little girl.

(((((((((((((((((((((complic8d))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry that little girl was made to feel so bad. And I am very sorry that she was made to feel so sad. I wish I could make her feel less sad now by helping show her she is a wonderful person who hopefully she can learn to love herself. Please take care and know there are those that acccept you just as you are.

Thank you so much for your replies. You are all so caring. I had this memory last night and thought I would write it. I'm going to take it to my t, too. I don't even know what happened to cause all the feelings, but I remember that one event. My t had said she has long suspected abuse (even sexual), but I have no specific memories. Maybe this is a start.

Sorry that the little girl was put into a spot to feel bad. She wasn't and isn't bad. She is loved and is loveable.

Oh my gosh.... this is as though I wrote it, well about being little and mistakes are bad and they mean one is not worthy of love and understanding.

((((Complic8d))))) I also have that little girl inside of me. My dad let me know at 4 yrs old that I was bad and she is still inside of me, crying from the abuse at times, take care of that little girl inside as she will always be a part of you and remember she was just a little girl. sadness, pain, sorry so many of us can relate. Be good to her, I bet she's a wonderful little person and I do so love children.
