I don't have any official diagnosis that people agree on, but the majority say MDD (severe w/o psychotic features), PTSD, Eating Disorder NOS, and then SI which isnt a dx but factors in.
I'm 19 and until now I really havn't had any decent medical treatment for the issues (been medicated since 13, but with a tiny dose of celexa until I was almost 18). And since then Ive been on a few more meds but no one has ever really communicated with each other or followed up on any of the changes or issues.

So now I have this new doctor who is really great and is finally an actual psychiatrist not an NP. And Ive been really struggling but he just added another med - that makes 4 psych meds.
1. Trileptyl - mood stabilizer
2. Wellbutrin - anti-depressant
3. Clonidine - blood pressure med used to treat anxiety
4. Prozac - anxiety

I'm just worried about brain development since mine is still growing plus just being on a lot of pysch meds along with my levothyroxine (thyroid) worries me. And my parents don't even know I'm on the meds (they're anti-meds and kind of anti-psychology). So I'm looking for any thoughts.
I know that side effects won't matter if I come off of them and then end up hospitalized or am not able to function or die. But I'm also worried....

im totally antimed and right now i am up to six....one is as needed so i never take it.....i am weaning off one with my docs permission and then i will be on 4.i tried the clonidine for anxiety and it didn't really do anything for me. i take buspar and it works really well. i don't know why your pdoc has you on two antianxieties. ive learned not to count how many i am on, i just don't want to end up in the hospital again..........i take my mood stabilizers....my antianxieties and my antidepressants........i will do anything to stay out of the hospital

If you have concerns, talk to your doctor about the meds. If you don't feel like you are getting the answers you are looking for, it's ok to seek a second opinion.
Sometimes they augment meds with additional meds, or they prescribe one to counteract the side effects of the other. I'm not a doctor or anything, but the two antidepressants would have me questioning, especially in combination with a mood stabilizer. Generally, Dr's don't prescribe so many in combination right off the bat unless you have a history of issues with the meds you were on, or your symptoms are severe. Definitely have a conversation with him around why he is prescribing each, and tell him your concerns with the meds. It is also within your rights to say you only want one or two meds to see how they work before adding on more...
Good luck.
