I've suffered from emotional abuse after witnessing my mother being verbally/emotionally abused by my step-father for 10 years.
I was a child when it started, and its an on and off kind of thing. I'm an adult now but have invisible scars from all those years. It's affected every aspect of my life. My self-esteem, my confidence, and even my health. Yet, when the abuse stops, he acts as if nothing happened. No apologies. No nothing. He doesn't get anything, just goes on. I've given him the silent treatment for a month and a half now after possibly going through the worst period of abuse. I thought the silent treatment would get him to think about what he's done to me, to my mother, to my twin sister, but he hasn't acknowledged anything. It kills me to see him happy, to not be affected, while I'm silently suffering. |

Why are you silently suffering? Have you talked this over with your mother? I am sure that she is having a hard time with it too. Maybe you, Mom and your twin sister can figure out a way to get him into therapy ( and you guys as well) or out of the house. Do you have a counselor at school? If you do you should talk to him/her about the problem and see what they have to say.
