For anyone living in the UK and worried about coping with medical appointments having survived abuse, there is a new service in London
Clinic aims to help rape victims claim their body back - BBC News
Wish it was more widespread but it's a good start.

WOW! this is excellent!
you know........i have only once outside of childbirth gotten a PAP and that was after much nagging from a provider that i built a lot of trust with. im 52.

i have never thought to actually tell a dr my issues. i just avoid dr.s all together.

That is really cool, kudos to that woman. I am fortunate in that my primary physician is a very cool lady and I was able to tell her about my CSA issues. She always gives me a xanax and is extremely respectful, asks my permission before everything, etc. It does make a difference.
