I have an older sister that has always hated me and demonized me so I cut off contact with her 25 years ago but due to estates I had to interact with her and her lies about me a few more times.
More than one person has remarked that she seems to hate me as I was born the male about 18 months after her. I was wondering if there are any sources of information so that I can have some better understanding of why this can happen. My older sister does not bother me since she cannot get in touch with me but I would still like to know more about this for closure. |

Hello Meyerbeck: I am not aware of any information on this topic.
 Perhaps some other members, here on PC will be. However, I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks!  I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.  PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! Part of the reason is dealing with others who want to to sing or play me 'The Living Years' by Mike & The Mechanics in an attempt to get to to forgive and reconnect. After 30 year of her lies and accusations it is more than clear to me to I need to keep my distance from her. Her pattern has been to infect any of my friends with her hate of me if she gets in contact with them. So I have no connection and do not even reveal her name if someone asks.

Honestly, I have an older sister who was kind of like this in a sense but it was also a bit of a different situation. Some older siblings have a natural hate because the younger one gets the attention and isn't punished as severely. I always was a bit jealous of my younger sister when we were kids but that wasn't prominent in our relationship. I love her with all of my heart. I really couldn't tell you what makes you sister hate you. Maybe she was some sort of mental illness that makes it worse. Who knows. But it is obviously a problem with her and really has nothing to do with you; you're just in her sights. Best to keep her out like you're doing now. You don't need that in your life.

She may be a narcissist like my sister in which case she only is capable ever of feeling hatred and envy and boredom,none of the emphathic emotions and certainly not love.
Keep up the no contact if she hates you and is determined to malign you to your friends you are better without her,you cannot restore the relationship if she is a narcissist so don't try you will only suffer pain. |
