Don't really have the energy to start a new topic other then this right now.

I've been thinking about how much I blame myself, if I hadn't done this then my family wouldn't have done that. Huh? I am not responsible for what happened to me as a minor!

Thanks for sharing. I do the same thing a lot. You're not alone. Have to remind myself I was only a child. It's hard to think of myself as a child who was hurt.

Then it projects into my adult life, I didn't cause getting in a relationship with a sociopath when I was 20. My mom gave him a pass because of his race.

I'm sorry that happened. When I was 17 I too was with a narcissist/sociopath who would do heinous things to me. I was primed for that by previous child abuse. Listening.

Yes and moving forward, it's like now what? I don't know what an emotionally satisfying relationship is or what it's like to have good feelings for a safe person.

I didn't either. Not really. I am in a relationship with a safe person but I still don't know what healthy is as I am always acting on trauma based responses even during safe times, this causes lots of chaos and relationship issues as you can imagine.

I don't even know what a safe person is. Are they safe because they say they are safe or are they safe because you know they are safe? I think the latter. I've been reading this book called psychopath free and it says psychopaths tell rather then show.

I guess I feel safe and secure and loved by this person. I feel very blessed to have him in my life.

Oh I am so glad I am not the only who feels this way! Not sure I would survive a healthy relationship.
Thanks for this!

Yep! I think a healthy relationship would be to much pressure for me. I would be waiting for the bad to happen. I can see wanting to end it or my life to avoid the pain that may or may not be coming.
