Anyone have words of wisdom for an abuser who uses the ol' "I'll have a realtionship with you when you surrender to my demands" trick and in the meantime, pretends you don't exist as punishment?

No, no I do not.

However, I live with her (sister) and she refuses to do any housework because she thinks I need "to build some character". She thinks she is helping me build character by making me keep the house alone.

The silent treatment is cruel and twisted. If you can manage it, just pretend like it means nothing to you, and your enjoying the peace and quiet. I get angry and upset when someone gives me the silent treatment, and it's hard to not follow them around apologizing for whatever it is they think they are punishing me for. The fastest end to the madness is to just leave them alone, and not let them know it bothers you.
Thanks for this!
