Years and years ago, I had a dream about what I wanted to do with my life, but my mum was dead set against it. When I voiced it, she completely lost it, screaming at the top of her lungs whenever I tried to talk to her, guilt tripping me into giving up my dream (which was to live and work abroad)..

There's still part of me that's hoping to make it happen, but I feel, I don't know - traumatized by her reaction, even now after all this time.. I don't even want to hear about the possibility of making my dream come true now. This makes me sad because of course, I should be living my own life, not doing what she wants me to do..

Yup. This is your life, and you only ever get one of them. When it's done it's done, whether you've done the things you want to do or not.

Pssst. You don't just get one dream, though. You can have as many of them as you want.

My Mom does this, but more covert. Sometimes.

How about teaching english abroad? I see those little ads around the internet and they seem legit.
