A little girl sits within
on a chair with pale skin
freckles on her cheeks and nose
sitting in an upright pose.
She's waiting there
she seems to stare
and teardrops sting
a pitiful thing.
She longs to ask
why I wear this mask
why she sits alone
with a heart like stone
sometimes she cries
but no one tries
to ease her pain
so she retreats again.
sometimes I reach out
explain what it's about
but my mind plays tricks
it's muddled and mixed.
once, she stood up tough
said she'd had enough
but the pain remains
so deep is the stain.
She'll be out soon
I'll give her the moon
let her bathe in the sun
when we become one.

thankyou for reading this, it took a lot to write it, it's quite raw at the moment, my hubby almost cried when he read it too, I think he understands me more as I'm writing thingsdown.

Jinny
I kept thinking about it last night. I printed it off and put it in my journal.
I'm going to share it with my therapist at my next appt. I'm in EMDR right now, working on my "little girl".
Thank you for sharing it with us.
