I have began reading 'will i ever be good enough? Healing the daughters of narcisstic mothers'. I have to say, I am only halfway through and it has been such a journey already. I grew up believing I was just too sensitive for life. I felt during my childhood that I just felt too deeply and couldn't handle things the way normal people could.
Reading this book has really helped me to see that what I felt was real, it has validated so many issues for me growing up, that I am astonished and so very thankful for. I had to take a break last night from reading because the content was so hard hitting, that it brought up a lot of old memories and current feelings and I felt the need to sit with it for a while and work through it before continuing. I don't think iv ever had that much of a powerful experience during reading ever. So, if you feel that you may have had a narcissistic mother, I recommend this book whole heartedly. I'm looking forward to finishing the book and hopefully working towards some of the long lasting effects from my childhood. Hugs to you all x |

Thanks, Zedsdead. Sounds like a great book. I wish I had read it years ago. My narcissistic mother used to tell me I was too sensitive when I got upset about something she said and did.
