I made myself vulnerable (regarding a delicate family situation) with someone I am starting to have feelings for for the first time since leaving the narc ex 3 years ago. It was in response to his being vulnerable with me about similar issues, but I haven’t received a response to my message yet. It’s terrifying, and all I want to do is run. I have panic attacks thinking I will be too much for him to handle if I ever decide to tell him about the abuse. I fear he will try to use it against me. Does this fear of opening up ever end?

How about a phone call, then? Waiting for a response after sharing something so personal and that deserves more attention seems so frustrating.
