This spoke so much to me about the need of being real and authentic.
I have seen different physical things during my work with my counselor. This makes total sense. Just wanted to share it here.

Thank you for this, I was just thinking about the need for authenticity.
And how much harm is done by those who aren’t authentic and who are cruel ![]() And how hard it can be to know our authentic self when abusers since early childhood have relentlessly told us we are intrinsically wrong, gaslighted us etc ![]() ![]()

Yep. I need authenticity and the truth. The other day I asked new T how she would respond if I asked a question and she thought the answer might hurt my feelings. Would she lie? Thankfully she said she couldn’t imagine a situation in which she would lie to me. This was good. I’d rather be sad than not know the truth. But she also said little white lies can have their place. Now I wanna her definition of those and if she’d use them on me.
