I don't want to lose a good person in my life just because I am so afraid to move forward due to trauma from my past.

ennie, are you in therapy? Having support and advice can help in these situations, as well as in dealing with past trauma.

Yep. The counselor is actually the one advising me to take it slow and get to know people. But I need to manage that too so that it doesn't get to the point of never moving forward. I hope the right person will be patient and wait for me.

I say... do what’s best for you. When the real good person comes around I think the right person will be patient.
