So many therapists I have seen have speculated that I may oc been sexually abused. Whenever anyone suggests that may of happened to me I feel embarrassed, self conscious, like I need to run away, anxiety, etc. Is that the reaction anyone would have?

I know that feeling. It comes to me every time I am asked about my childhood sexual abuse.

I guess I'm asking is that the normal experience one would have whether they were abused or not?

Sorry, I would not be able to help with that. Hope you find your answer.

I was abused young, and I have the same type of feelings. IDK if it is bc of the abuse or just me.

You might not find your answer in this forum, because I think most people will come here because they were abused. Maybe try one of the forums for therapy to get an answer from someone who wasn't abused.

Rive, everyone experiences a different normal. I believe there is a icky factor to the subject of SA for most of us whether you experienced it or not. If you feel that there is more to your discomfort, it bears some cautious research.

Its very hard to understand signs without a memory. And stepping cautiously and bravely through that mind field is required . If you choose this approach find someone to work with you. And choose someone who will listen, not “feed” memories to you but will also reflect back your truths

I would ask the therapists why they think that......in other words, what evidence do they have?
